I wanted to buy my first home after being a life-long renter. I was a little nervous about starting the process, and after months of stalking properties on Zillow, I reached out to the selling agent on a property I was interested in and so began my communication with Gina Bozzo at Long and Foster. I was relocating back to the Wilmington, Delaware area as I transitioned into retirement after spending the last 20 years in Florida. My first communications with Gina were entirely remote and she could not have been more attentive to my questions about the process. I made the decision to travel north to look at the listing in question and scheduled some time with Gina. We spent several hours looking at multiple properties, most of which were listed by other agents. A true professional, but certainly down to earth like conversing with an old friend, Gina was informative and answered all my questions; offering suggestions and opinions on each property we looked at. Her goal was to find a home I would love! I found a property that I absolutely did love and although this was not one of Ginas’ listings and was not a high-end property, she was attentive at every step and provided her expertise and guidance when another buyer entered the picture. Ultimately, my offer was accepted, and I purchased my forever retirement home. Gina was by my side from initial showing, making my down payment, coordinating efforts with the listing agent and the legal team, arranging the final walk-through, to my seamless, issue-free settlement. She was nothing short of amazing from introduction to key possession, especially as many of these steps were conducted remotely while I was still living in Florida coordinating my move. If I wanted to see a property, she was there that week to show me. She was open and honest throughout the whole process. I inherited my family home in 2016 which had been used as a rental for many years, as you can imagine nothing had been done to the house in decades and with a cancer diagnosis I wasn’t up to doing the work needed to get it sale ready.
